Your own virtual GP: video medical consultations go mainstream in UK.

Avatar Disruptive HQ | 15/08/2017

Dr Now, the video and telephone GP consultation service, is the first telehealth service in the UK to pass its inspection and be deemed ‘safe’ by the Care Quality Commission, which is the regulatory body for medical services in the UK. Now there are lots of this kind of service in the UK nowadays, and they’re all regulated by the CQC, but this is the first time that one of them has actually completed its inspection and received the label of ‘safe’. This comes in the wake of some news about another telephone service, Babylon. They’ve teamed up with the NHS to deliver free calls with GPs. The service is called GP At Hand and offers video conferencing with doctors from 8am to 8pm.
